A Quickie

Well hello there! I know I've been MIA for a while. I lost my mind and decided to become a content creator. Or is it the other way around? Either way, it's exhausting.
I've been kind of stressed (is it me or is SL being particularly ornery lately?) and ripping my hair out. I need to relax!

I headed up to my sky box and jumped on this break dancing pad from Agent Orange. I consider it to be one of the best hunt gifts ever. It's so entertaining.
I love these socks. I have rainbow toe socks like this in my first life, and I squeed when I found them in SL. What's life without a little color and whimsy?
My friend Sanura dropped these jeans on me today, and when I tried them on I actually thanked her for not showing 6" of visible crack. Remember kids, CRACK IS WACK.

Before I give you my style notes, I wanted to thank the pose makers and animators of SL. Without you I wouldn't look nearly as cute or as glamorous while wearing my pretty clothes, I wouldn't have the break dancing mat that makes me smile, and without an AO I'd be stuck in the default SL muppet stalk, trotting around like I've got a stick up my bum. So thank you for the hard work you put in to each pose and animation. I'm happy to put in the extra half second of effort it takes to credit you on my blog.

Freeze Frame!

Glitterati will be offering a set of poses called "Headshot 2" as Thursday, January 28th's SL Daily Deal. I played around with them and I have to admit they are a ton of fun.
I suspect no one thinks I'm as cute as I do, and these poses may have fed my ego just a little ;-)

I'm in LUST!

When I found out I had been selected to receive a blogger preview pack of Launa Fauna’s new skins, at first I was too shocked to click accept. Then I squeed. A lot. I tried them on and stared at myself, camming over my whole body several times. (Vanity, thy name is Isabeau.) But there's no getting around it; I like these skins. I love these skins. I hot monkey lust these skins.

I admit I don’t own many Chai or Chai Nova skins. They just never looked right on me. However, Launa Fauna’s newest skin line L.Fauna is vastly different from her Chai skins. (There's even a different subscriber for the L.Fauna line, which can be found here.) Though she still offers the oh-so-awesome tintable brows and freckle options, the face and body are fresh and new. They’re head-to-toe beautiful, and when they’re released, I will have them all!

I received 3 skins in the pale 2 tone, and I’m amazed at how the softly shaded body almost glows.

One of my absolute favorite parts of these skins is the soft belly. I’m a curvy girl in SL so I'm not a big fan of rock-hard abs drawn onto women's skins. I’m proud to show off this belly rather than hide it under my clothes!

Launa still excels in the freckle department. Not only are her freckles very well done (not too light, not too dark) she also puts a smattering of freckles across the chest, the back, and subtle ones on the belly. As a freckled girl IRL, that tickles me. I look like a sweetheart in the "Fresh" makeup and that’s all right with me.

The skins come in 6 gorgeous tones (2 pale, 2 tan, 2 dark), all of which have tintable lips and brows, freckle options, and cleavage options (not shown here.)

As of right now, there are no demos to try because the skins haven’t been released. However, the public will get their first shot at these skins on the next 50 Linden Friday (tomorrow) when Launa offers a skin for only 50Ls. I challenge you to grab it and fall in love with the L.Fauna skins the way I have.

I haven't been blogging much lately because I'm doing a stint as the queen of road trips, and I'm not nearly done. I've got 2 more week-long road trips in me before 2010, both for major holidays, and I'm all meh about them. And I'm sick, so that's the cherry on my sniffling sneezing coughing aching stuffy headed sundae. Ha!

I needed some cheering up, so I dug in my inventory for the little things that make me happy. Some of you know I'm downright nuts about apples and apple stuff in RL and SL, so I decided to show you some of my finds. Hopefully you'll find something here that catches your eye :)

This apple shirt from eLDee is one of my favorites, mainly because it's the first apple item I found in SL. This wormy necklace and bracelets from WhoNose is just so damned cute.
When Sileny told me about the apple cardigan at Concrete Flowers, I think I broke the lightspeed record for teleports.
And look, I even have apples on my shoes! THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY!

I have been working my chunky little butt off on a project for the last two weeks and I'm exhausted. I don't feel like doing anything. I don't even want to get out of bed. My new lounge wear from elymode is so comfortable that I could stay in bed all day wearing it.

Okay, okay. I'll get out of bed. And yes, I'll put some clothes on. But I'm not going to do my hair or put on makeup. That's where I'm drawing the line. I'm determined to lay around like a blob with my 'tato chips and bask in the glow of the television. Now go away. I have lots of nothing to do.

Feeling comfortable in your skin

LionSkins has been a favorite store of mine for some time now. The awesome (and very sweet) Lion Jonesford never fails to amaze me with her skins. I did a post (on my personal blog) a while back featuring the Suzana skins (now retired) and another featuring the Su skins (also retired) because I love love LURVE them.

Sadly, those ladies have been retired. The good news? Lion has given me a new love, Cana, and she is GORGEOUS. She has (as always) beautiful eye makeup, totally kissable lips, and great belly shading. (No six pack for this chubby chick, thanks.)

Lion is incredibly generous, and recently marked 5 skins down to only 50Ls. I picked up a few I didn't already have in various tones and I fell head over heels in love with the dark tones, though they're all gorgeous.

This Demonology Hunt Gifts from Frick are positively wicked. You get not one, not two, but three skins AND eyes from the awesome and generous Fricka Morgath. They're so awesome. If you haven't had a chance to pick them up yet, you should. Red, black, and white are my favorite colors, so this skin pack just tickled me.

The goth skin is so pretty. I wasn't sure what to pair it with, but I can't keep giving you naked pics and booty shots, can I?
No, really. Can I? 'Cause that would make things a lot easier :P

The ash skin is pure love. I wanted to walk around naked wearing it (but I didn't.)
Yeah, I'm disappointed too.My favorite has to be the crimson skin. I can't stop wearing it. I paired it with an aptly-named outfit from Dilly Dolls and horns from *~*Illusions*~* and I was ready to make a deal for your soul.

Something so simple, yet so useful

I am completely handicapped when it comes to adjusting prim lashes. I have no idea why. I always think I have them adjusted properly, then I look at another angle and nope, I ain't got it. This usually leads to frustration and my walking around either eyelash-less or wearing a skin with eyelashes painted on (still on the fence on this one.)

However, before Miriel closed her doors I purchased her 3-pack of eyelashes (copy/no trans, 'cause I was sure I'd screw them up) and decided to give 'em a go. I still had trouble adjusting them until...

I found the mannequin skin from IMAGEN in my inventory and damn near messed myself. Once I donned the skin and eyes, I had the perfect blank palette for adjusting my eyelashes, and it didn't take long at all. And yes, they are perfect from all angles!
