Last Dance, Last Chance

I'm a little sad. LionSkins is discontinuing the Cana line of skins. Though a total of 6 skin lines will be gone tomorrow, Cana was the first line of skins in SL that I really loved. I bought up the regular makeups and the more... Unconventional? Theatrical? Whatever. I bought everything.

Though I usually wore pale skins, I really fell in love with the dark tone. Sometimes darker skins in SL are no more than a poorly tinted dark tan, or you can appear greyish, purplish, or worse... a sickly sort of greenish. I loved the dark Cana skins, and I wear them frequently.



Today (Sunday) is the very last day they'll be available. As of Monday, they'll be gone forever. Grab them now, while you can, for a measly 200 Ls each. (Forbidden, Noir, Dollhouse, Zulu, and Su are available for 150-200Ls too, and are also being retired forever as of Monday.)

Goodbye, Cana. You've been a lot of fun.

A Quickie

Well hello there! I know I've been MIA for a while. I lost my mind and decided to become a content creator. Or is it the other way around? Either way, it's exhausting.
I've been kind of stressed (is it me or is SL being particularly ornery lately?) and ripping my hair out. I need to relax!

I headed up to my sky box and jumped on this break dancing pad from Agent Orange. I consider it to be one of the best hunt gifts ever. It's so entertaining.
I love these socks. I have rainbow toe socks like this in my first life, and I squeed when I found them in SL. What's life without a little color and whimsy?
My friend Sanura dropped these jeans on me today, and when I tried them on I actually thanked her for not showing 6" of visible crack. Remember kids, CRACK IS WACK.

Before I give you my style notes, I wanted to thank the pose makers and animators of SL. Without you I wouldn't look nearly as cute or as glamorous while wearing my pretty clothes, I wouldn't have the break dancing mat that makes me smile, and without an AO I'd be stuck in the default SL muppet stalk, trotting around like I've got a stick up my bum. So thank you for the hard work you put in to each pose and animation. I'm happy to put in the extra half second of effort it takes to credit you on my blog.

Rock the Cradle of Love

I've wanted a denim miniskirt in SL for a while, so when Sn@tch released a whole pack of them, I made them mine. An image popped in my head of an 80's ensemble, and I just had to make it happen.

The pieces came together slowly but surely, and I'm quite happy with the result.
The "Boots of Fate" are another new release from Sn@tch this week, and they fit perfectly into the look I was trying to achieve. They're kickass pointy snake skin boots. Awesome.
I needed big hair, so Sileny directed me to Nouveau Miranda, where I found a big big hairstyle worthy of my Aqua Net fume-inspired dreams. I added a Cana skin with bold makeup and accessorized accordingly (leather, rhinestones, and crosses, oh my.)

And the pièce de résistance? The Isabeau bodice from Haven Designs, which was released this week. The detailing on the front and back is simply awesome, and it comes in 6 colors including a silver! No, I'm not partial at all...

Billy Idol, I'm ready to run away with you. Call me.

Feeling comfortable in your skin

LionSkins has been a favorite store of mine for some time now. The awesome (and very sweet) Lion Jonesford never fails to amaze me with her skins. I did a post (on my personal blog) a while back featuring the Suzana skins (now retired) and another featuring the Su skins (also retired) because I love love LURVE them.

Sadly, those ladies have been retired. The good news? Lion has given me a new love, Cana, and she is GORGEOUS. She has (as always) beautiful eye makeup, totally kissable lips, and great belly shading. (No six pack for this chubby chick, thanks.)

Lion is incredibly generous, and recently marked 5 skins down to only 50Ls. I picked up a few I didn't already have in various tones and I fell head over heels in love with the dark tones, though they're all gorgeous.

What's that you say? Shut up and get to the skins? Fine. *looks dejected and posts pictures*

I'm not on break...

I'm not usually a full ensemble type of gal, nor do I claim to be a fashionista. I admit I'm more functional than fashionable. I sort of throw something together and if my bits are covered, I'm happy. Sometimes I think I look cute; other times I'm just "meh."

Today I put together some recently acquired items and was pretty impressed with myself. I loved each of the pieces, and I think I did a pretty good job color coordinating and accessorizing. Let me know what you think:
