Enter SandGirl : Alt Fair Preview!

Locked in a box, she waited. One of my favorite stories of all time is the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman. When I saw the helmet from NebuchadNezzar at the Alternative Fair it instantly brought to mind the helm worn by the main character in the graphic novels. The helmet has a very eerie sort of glow that makes it difficult to distinguish the finer details of one's face and lends a mysterious air to the whole look. If you want to be even more mysterious there is an option to tint the glass portion of the mask to a higher level of opacity, even to complete black. The helmet also includes shoulder armor which I am not wearing in order to show off the awesome DV8 dress. This outfit from DV8 actually comes in several parts for mixing and matching. I chose the sort of sweet latex ballerina girl combination as an homage to the almost carnival or circus feel to many portions of the Sandman series. The ensemble comes complete with shoes, socks, and several options for tops. It's sweet without being overly saccharin and tough without feeling bulky or grungy. A perfect look for the woman who can make your dreams come true...The items from this post are available at the Alternative Fair from April 22nd-May 2nd. Each vendor will have *at least* one item out with 50%-100% of the proceeds going to the charity Nothing But Nets. The charity is amazing and you can find out more information on it HERE. There are also numerous donation kiosks out for you to contribute any amount. The fair is NOT open until 12PM SLT on April 22nd but I hope this post will get you excited about the event!

Freeze Frame!

Glitterati will be offering a set of poses called "Headshot 2" as Thursday, January 28th's SL Daily Deal. I played around with them and I have to admit they are a ton of fun.
I suspect no one thinks I'm as cute as I do, and these poses may have fed my ego just a little ;-)
My jewelry set is one of Wednesday's 69L Hump Day Happiness specials at DM Designs. I love the Stone Dreams sets and I wear them with casual outfits all the time. There are 2 choices available for just 69Ls each. They won't be pulled until Thursday morning, so you still have time to get them!
My friend Jerry got into the poses too. He made a remark about keeping his pimp hand strong. He'll pay for it later.
He's also wearing one of today's 69L Hump Day Happiness items from DM Designs. The men's Figaro necklaces are up in gold, silver, and black titanium for just 69Ls each. Get them before they go back to regular price on Thursday morning!
Most of the poses come with various hand configurations (pointing, relaxed, straight, fist, etc.) so you have a ton of options in each pose pack. 1,000 sets will be sold at the special SL Daily Deals price. Go get yourself a set and have some fun :)

I'm in LUST!

When I found out I had been selected to receive a blogger preview pack of Launa Fauna’s new skins, at first I was too shocked to click accept. Then I squeed. A lot. I tried them on and stared at myself, camming over my whole body several times. (Vanity, thy name is Isabeau.) But there's no getting around it; I like these skins. I love these skins. I hot monkey lust these skins.
(From left to right: Fresh, Voom, Acres. Click for larger version.)

I admit I don’t own many Chai or Chai Nova skins. They just never looked right on me. However, Launa Fauna’s newest skin line L.Fauna is vastly different from her Chai skins. (There's even a different subscriber for the L.Fauna line, which can be found here.) Though she still offers the oh-so-awesome tintable brows and freckle options, the face and body are fresh and new. They’re head-to-toe beautiful, and when they’re released, I will have them all!

I received 3 skins in the pale 2 tone, and I’m amazed at how the softly shaded body almost glows.

One of my absolute favorite parts of these skins is the soft belly. I’m a curvy girl in SL so I'm not a big fan of rock-hard abs drawn onto women's skins. I’m proud to show off this belly rather than hide it under my clothes!

Launa still excels in the freckle department. Not only are her freckles very well done (not too light, not too dark) she also puts a smattering of freckles across the chest, the back, and subtle ones on the belly. As a freckled girl IRL, that tickles me. I look like a sweetheart in the "Fresh" makeup and that’s all right with me.

The skins come in 6 gorgeous tones (2 pale, 2 tan, 2 dark), all of which have tintable lips and brows, freckle options, and cleavage options (not shown here.)

As of right now, there are no demos to try because the skins haven’t been released. However, the public will get their first shot at these skins on the next 50 Linden Friday (tomorrow) when Launa offers a skin for only 50Ls. I challenge you to grab it and fall in love with the L.Fauna skins the way I have.

It's for a good cause

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and that means *grumblegrumblegrumble* pink is everywhere on the grid in support of breast cancer research and elimination. It seems people are well-aware of my intense hatred of the color pink, but few know that cancer is something that hits close to home. It runs rampant in my family on both sides (I've lost several family members to different types of cancer), and one of my best friends is a breast cancer survivor.

So here I go. I will wear everything in my inventory that's pink AND provide photographic proof... because I absolutely support the quest for a cure. (If nothing else, please scroll to the bottom to read about the poses.)

Peace, love, and feel your ta-tas.

Also, if you can, please visit the Skin/Shape Expo and patronize vendors that support Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The expo runs until 10 October 2009.
Thank you.
