The Weeping Song

I've been seeing teaser images advertising the Epoch event for a while now and have been growing increasingly impatient.  It was to the point where I really didn't even want to buy anything else until it opened.  Well, it opened and I was not disappointed.  I was lagging pretty terribly last night, which had nothing to do with the event itself as it was surprisingly lag-free when I went, so I couldn't shop as much as I wanted to but I did pick up a few things right away, like this beastly outfit from Deviant Girls, one of my fave stores in SL, that not only comes with this cool fur shawl but with an entire outfit, even shoes and horns.  My hair is from Iruco and it's lovely in its unisex awesomeness.  The hair was only 150L I think or something around there so I will have to take my male alt over there and grab it too. :P
My eyeshadow is from La Mulvada Mujer.  I always drool with excitement over their store ads and the products inside the vendors certainly do not disappoint.  It comes with two other color eye makeups and a lipstick option as well.  The crown from Addict at the Festival of Sin obviously brings out thoughts of the crucifixion, something that always made me tear up when listening to the stories of it in Catholic church as a small child, so I searched Marketplace and found this free tear tattoo makeup from Spectrals to add to the feel of it.

Dr. Fancy Feelgood

When I used to play tabletop RPGs (don't judge) one of my characters was named Dr. Fancy Feelgood.  I think I may have been drinking when I created that character.  Anyway, she was a doctor in a post-apocalyptic world who was kind of promiscuous and just a wild, strange character in general.   When I saw this outfit from Bare Rose it reminded me of her and I had to slap it on.  The sushi lingerie from Schadenfreude adds just enough quirkiness to make this character just right to me.
My hair is from Mina and I love this store because I love wavy hair and not everyone makes it.  My hair is stick straight in RL so having wavy hair in SL is a fun change.  My skin is from Amacci, who I usually go to for hair, but the lips on this skin really impressed me so I had to wear it.
Worn/Used:
Nurse Outfit: Bare Rose, 140L and comes with shoes and stockings and stuff too!
Skin: Amacci @ Festival of Sin
Hair: Mina @ Festival of Sin
Stockings and Sushi Lingerie: Schadenfreude @ Festival of Sin
*Note: The skirt in this photo is a system skirt and I ended up having to heavily photoshop it because apparently shadows + system skirts = suck.  You should be able to see it accurately on the item vendor picture though.

SHOES

I have acquired sooooo many shoes lately.  Some I bought, some were gifts from friends, some were freebies, a couple were review copies...they are just clogging up my inventory with their awesome.  I figured it would take me far too long to do a post about each of them and, frankly, I don't have time to post every single one even if I tried.  So, I chose the five most recent acquisitions to show you in one convenient spot!  First off, these Khan heels from Ingenue.  They are mesh but they aren't rigged so you can fit them easily.  Lots of nice, earthy colors.  I like how they did the spike on heels trend without going way over the top and making it look like a biker porcupine.
Next I have these shoes from Lassitude & Ennui.  These are the version that come with foot and toes are rigged mesh so that the foot actually moves with your leg and bends nice and doesn't look too Frankenstein-y.  There is also a version without the foot part and only the prim toes that is not rigged so you can move it around and do what you want with it.  They come in lusty colors like red, gold, purple, silver and black and you can change the toenail color via a hud.  The foot/toes are tinted via the same hud as the toenails.  It uses a color picker system but you can enter RGB if you like that too.
Now for some not mesh stuff! Haha.  I like the color combo on these boots from Loordes of London.  It's fun to see the baby pink and blue with the tough boot style.  They are only 50L, along with a few other boot styles, at the Love is In the Air event at the Cupcakes sim but the 24th is the last day so hurry!
Also at the Love is In the Air event are these cute boots from Duh!  They are only 10L. :O  There is a pink version also.  AND as a bonus I noticed a free pair of flats at the booth as well.
Finally I wanted to show these awesome/whacky shoes from Hate Me and Eat Me.  If you have read my blog long enough you probably know I love them for the out there styles they always bring and this time is no exception.  These shoes have a prim foot part, which is good because they way they push your foot forward just wouldn't work without it I don't think.  They are click to resize and the skin is tinted via a color picker hud.  They are available in a lot of very, very bright color combinations and since I am a huge fan of bright colors that is a total win.
I hope you find something you like!

Migraine Blog

CURSES YOU HORRIBLE MIGRAINE!  I SHALL SMITE YOU WITH TYLENOL AND CAFFEINE!  FEEL MY WRATH!  Okay, maybe I am being a bit dramatic but the Festival of Sin includes the sin wrath, am I right?  Well, any excuse to use the angry face emote in SL I guess.  Haha!  One thing I absolutely can't be angry about though is this dress from RezIpsa Loc.  I met RezIpsa a couple of years ago when she sent me a review copy of jeans in her store when she had about 10 items in the whole place.  I loooooved them so much!  Eventually we started chatting a bit and she joined Plurk where I have been able to see all of her releases and watch her grow as an artist and it's been so fun to see the progress.  I really love these lace dresses (they come in a billion colors) though I'll say right now I photoshopped the prim part of the skirt to blend in better for the photo.  It matched well already but my shadows messed the lighting up and it looked crazy in the final photo so I smudged it to make it look prettier. xD  I don't usually PS much of anything so I wanted to put that out there, haha.
My skin is a new release for the Festival of Sin from La Petite Morte.  I'm kind of addicted to finding new skin designers, skins being my biggest shopping weakness since I joined SL, so to find a store like LPM that is making original, basically from scratch, skins that is still fairly unknown is pretty exciting.  The skins have been making the blog rounds lately and I am excited to see other people's photos and really excited to see what the creator comes up with in the future.  My necklace is from Caroline's Jewelry at the Festival and it's just a fun, simple, messy necklace that really fits the "sloth" theme but in the classy style expected of Caroline's.  The hair is from Amacci and...well...it's just so wild and crazy I couldn't NOT blog it.  I'm a sucker for big, crazy hair!
Sorry Kitty for all the Festival of Sin posts. xD  I'll get back to more stuff in normal stores I promise!

B2B and Flux LOTD

I have so many things to blog!  Today I wanted to share some lovely things from Back to Black and Flux, along with a few other things.  I had a lot of trouble with V3 and getting lighting settings right so if you hate the light settings I use bare with me, I'll get better at it soon.  First off, look at this dress from Jack Spoon.  How adorable is this?  I love the color and the sheen on the fabric.  Yum!  I had to share these cute stools from Starstruck too!  Also,  my little picture is from Silent Sparrow for Flux.  NARWHALS!!  And if for some crazy reason you don't like narwhals there are other animals available as well.

My boots are new for Back to Black from Lassitude & Ennui.  I am loving how wonderful the textures on mesh items show and I am impressed with how they move along with the body without any stiffness.

I had to pimp myself out a bit and show you the skin I did for Back to Black.  It's one of my faves I have ever done so I hope other people enjoy it.  The lips, however, are a tattoo layer from Acid&Mala which I am seriously loving.  The pack comes in a variety of shades of pinkness to match your style.

Also check out this bracelet Airedine made.  It's non-rigged mesh which means you can resize, reposition, etc.  There are other positions for it, like upper arm, forearm, etc.  It also comes in a necklace version and a silver version.  Yay!
Here's the credits and I hope you find something you like!

WTF!? Why Is Your Picture Not Rezzed?

I have noticed something quite alarming on the feeds.  People are not waiting for skins and makeup to fully rez before taking a picture!!!  Most of the time it's not as drastic as the photo below but it can come quite close.  It's really sad because designers work hours, days, week, months to make a good product and then someone comes along and shows it like this, making it look horrific?  Not cool.  I don't usually post opinions, that's NOT what this blog is for,but it's borderline insulting to any creator when it happens.  I have been doing occasional tutorials on Free*Style and a lot of people are asking for help with simple things and I love to help out.  I assume that when issues like this happen it's a simple case of not knowing how to rebake a texture to make a photo look nice so a simple tutorial might be just what is needed.
First off, make sure your graphics preferences are up to par.  For any photo LOD should be at 4 or more and avatar should be up super high and so should flexi.  I'm doing a close up so everything else doesn't matter much to me.  Here is how my settings in Firestorm look:
Next, get your photo set up how you want it.  Make sure you have the Advanced menu available.  If not, select ctrl+alt+d to show it.  Select Rebake Textures.  The textures rebake pretty fast and often don't stay baked for long since there is a dumb bug so click your snapshot A.S.A.P. while the picture is still clear.
Now doesn't this look better than the first photo?
Before anyone gets all huffy, I know my pictures aren't the best.  I know some people are still newbs at photo taking.  We all had to learn these tricks somewhere if we didn't somehow find them out on our own.  I am just passing this info. along to anyone who might need it.  Obviously someone does or otherwise people wouldn't be taking unrezzed photos and then having the nerve to ask for review copies.  I just hope this helps someone and thanks for letting me get that out of my system! xD
*Note: I didn't wear much in this photo because I didn't want to show something unrezzed and make a designer look bad so I wore a skin from my own store and the hair is from Catwa (which looks lovely even though the hair base is unrezzed in the first shot, of course.)
