A Quick Plea To Designers

I have been discussing something with a lot of people lately and I wanted to let any designers who may stumble across my blog know about it.  We really, really, REALLY would like it if you did the following when sending group notices:

Please make a note card for your notice that has all of the following on it:
   -Landmark
   -Item Photo
   - Any important product information, such as when a sale ends or if the item is limited edition, etc.

When you send only a photo, only an LM or a note card with just a Flickr link or something chances are you will get a lot fewer customers.  People don't want to have to search around for your store (we all know using search isn't exactly foolproof.)  If people see something they link they want to go get it.  If we have to put the LM or texture in there folders until we have the time to dig around for your store info. then we might forget and never bother to get it.
Another important thing is make sure you have your store updated, a slurl on your about me, ANYTHING that will let us know where to go.  Pretty please?
OK if this info. helps even one person I will be super happy!  Thanks for reading my semi-rant. xD

Hate Me Handy Bastard

Oh, just sleepy ol' me, dozing off at the gallery.
Quick!  Grab the art and go before security sees us!
I had a lot of fun taking these pictures.  I've been quite uninspired lately by the same old pastel pink tube dresses and ripped ass crack pants so when I find something as refreshing as the items in these pictures I have to put my spin on them.  So often I'll see somewhere in SL selling art and think "Hey, that would look nice in my tiny house!" only to realize it was stolen off of Deviant Art or something like that.  This painting by Ken Bastard not only looks nice in my tiny house, it is in SL with permission from the original artist.  Gasp! Yep!  You can see Ken Bastard's website HERE for more goodness.
My table and the goodies on top of it are from a new-to-me store called Handverk.  I spotted them at Culture Shock when I was trying to find my booth to set up and was like say whaaaaat!?  It was really exciting to see their booth and to find something that was not only not shabby chic but also was mesh!  I look forward to seeing more from this brand.
My dress is from Hate Me and Eat Me and if you read my blogs you should know by now how much I love this store.  She always makes something a bit different and very exciting.  She took a basic strapless dress and textured it in shimmering ombre that looks so good with or without windlight settings on.  It's mesh and comes in 3 sizes, small, medium and large, and I'm not entirely sure if they use the Standard Sizing numbers or not so be aware of that.
Below is a close up on the skin and makeup I am wearing in the photo:
My skin is from YourSkin & YourShape and my eye makeup is from Cheap Makeup, both at Culture Shock.  The left side shows the skin without any additional makeup added.  I wore it with the dark eyebrow and hair base option, though there are other color options as well.  You can also find cleavage options and more so make sure to try the demo to get a feel of all you get.  The right side shows the skin with the eye makeup added to it.  The makeup is available in a ton of colors and works with just about every skin tones, as Cheap makeup usually does.
  Have fun!

Sheer

Oh Culture Shock, you are so awesome.  I am super lucky because my store is in Culture Shock so I got to go early and swoon over all of the lovely things without lag.  One of the things I swooned over the most was this set from Solidea Folies.  There are several color options available but black and white is my fave with just about everything in fashion, this set included.  The dress is mesh and comes with an attachment of the "eyeball-like" things that are attached to the mask but I didn't wear them because I just wanted a more simple feel.  I wore a bigger size in the mesh than I normally would because I like the way it looks floating away from the body with the sheer "fabric."
I love masks in general and I just adore this one especially.  I have a hard time getting really super excited about things in SL lately but this got me all super duper happy.  There is an all black version I loved too that is in the same shade of black as the circles on the dress.  I realized the circles on the dress were the same shade of matte black as this collar from Hate Me and Eat Me so I added it to the look.  I love the old-fashioned appeal of it.  My lipstick is also from Hate Me and Eat Me but since it's under the mask you can't see it very well.  It's nice though, I promise. :P
My hair is from Tuty's and I don't think it's a new release but I am not in the group so I don't know.  I just check out their Marketplace store every once in a while for things I don't have, haha.  I love how natural the hair base looks.  My skin and under eye liner are from Adore&Abhor at Culture Shock but since it's my own store I won't say too much about it. :P  I'm wearing 2 different eyes and they were both dollarbies from Marketplace.  Yay Marketplace!  The brush I used for the background was a RL freebie from InSight Designs.  Yay RL freebies!

Feeling Kind of Earthy

Wow, I really hate the new Blogger home layout.  It's burninating my eyeballs with all the white. D:  But anyway, blog post time! I don't wear brown and gold tones very often, blame the goth-punk-psychobilly chick in me, but every once in a while I find some stuff I like.  When I saw this cabaret-inspired vest (part of a whole outfit) as a hunt item from Cillian'gel for Wear Gray I got super excited and decided I had to make a look around it.  I looked through the recent items tab in my inventory and was pleasantly surprised to find lots of things that worked with it!  Even this cute chair from Mudhoney and this lovely little beachy house from Funky Junk worked with the look.  This skirt from Miao was a great find especially, I love the ruffly bottom of it!
Here is the obligatory facial close-up where you can see my lovely skin from Cupcakes, my free eyes from Insufferable Dastard, and my free necklace from Artistry by ~E~.
For an even closer close-up, check out my shoes from baby Monkey.  I am wearing the brown version up top but I am a sucker for red so here you have them!  The version I have is color change so woo!
And for the closest close-up yet, check out my prim hands from MiaSnow.  I was weary of prim hands, hadn't tried them before this, but MiaSnow is always very affordable and these came with color change nails, bracelets, and, best of all, get this...Ring Pop Ring!!  YAY!  When I saw the store blog link to these in my offline messages I was literally about to go get my daughter a Ring Pop from the cupboard, totally not even shitting you.  It was meant to be!
Ok well I hope you find something you like and here is the rest of the info.!

Manvatar Love

So none of this stuff is new, in fact some of it is quite old, but I was wandering around in my malt (or manvatar, or male avatar, whatever you want to call it) when I realized how much I love this MiaSnow male skin and how I have never really expressed that love.  Well, here it is!
This is what my av is wearing right now.  My man avs tend to wear FIR&MNA and Pig almost exclusively.  I have bits and pieces from other brands but these two always seem to call to me.
 OK, have fun!

N is for Nahua

When Cajsa let it be known on Plurk that Squinternet Larnia, creator of Donna Flora, was very ill in RL I was very upset.  While Squinternet is on my in-world friends list, I have never talked to her beyond business purposes.  Why?  Because she intimidates me.  Not in the "I'm afraid of her" sort of way but in the "I am constantly in awe of her talent and don't feel worthy of speaking to her" sort of way.  I know, it's really strange and silly for someone to get starstruck in SL, but when someone has genuine talent, real artistic talent that goes beyond pushing pixels around in photoshop, I can't help it.  Donna Flora's pieces really are art.
Check out the detail on this necklace.  I don't even know where I would begin to describe the colors, textures, prim work, and general awesome style so I'll just let you look on your own.  I know people cover her clothing quite often, and believe me I have many folders of them, but I wanted to show the jewelry since I think accessories often get overlooked.
I am praying for Squinternet and I sincerely hope she gets better, and soon, so I can work up the nerve to talk to her before I get too shy again.  If you would like to see the rest of the Donna Flora A-Z posts please check HERE. Best wishes Squinternet!
